01.02.2011: Six leads the field with six CARA Award nominations

Six received some exciting news today, as they were nominated for their first-ever CARA Awards for their debut CD, Swept Away. In fact, we were nominated for more awards than any other group! The CARA Awards are given by the Contemporary A Cappella Society, with previous awards being given to groups such as The King Singer's, Rajaton, The Real Group and Club for Five. Six was nominated in the following categories:

Best Pop/Rock Album
Best Folk/World Album
Best Folk/World Song for 'When You are Old'
Best Professional Songwriting for 'Swept Away'
Best Jazz Song for 'In Love'
Best Canadian Album

Especially exciting is the Best Folk/World Song category, as we are named alongside the brilliant Rajaton and Club for Five who have been incredibly inspirational for us, so to be mentioned in the same sentence, let alone an award category, is quite unbelievable.
